DHX Media appoints CPLG to represent In the Night Garden in the UK

Continues momentum for hit IP consumer products range with UK and Australia deals

Halifax, NS - 22 January 2014 - DHX Media, a leading independent creator, producer, distributor and licensor of children’s entertainment content, has appointed CPLG as UK agent for its popular preschool property, In the Night Garden and signed a raft of licensing deals in the UK and Australia.

In the show’s home territory of the UK, Inspiration Works is set to produce ebooks based on the property, while VMC holds rights for dress up items and winter accessories. Ravensburger has picked up rights for boxed and floor puzzles, with Worlds Apart releasing In the Night Garden ready beds, play tents and inflatable seating. Dreamtex is creating a range of themed bedding, towels and facecloths, with Trademark Collections set to design bags and backpacks featuring the Night Garden residents. Century Books is planning an In the Night Garden annual with i-tech index cards, giving them an interactive potential with tablets.

DHX Media has also renewed Penguin Childrens’ Books publishing license in both the UK and Australia to produce In the Night Garden stories in print. Other deals in Australia include Jasnor Toys being appointed as Master Toy partner, and a DVD deal with ABC Roadshow Entertainment which features In the Night Garden characters.

Award-winning In the Night Garden consists of 100x30 minute episodes which have achieved international success, airing in 36 countries and translated into 19 languages. The series takes children on an imaginative journey to meet a host of wonderfully silly and whimsical characters with unusual names like Igglepiggle, Makka Pakka Upsy Daisy and The Tombliboos, who live together within a happy and caring community.

In the UK, In the Night Garden continues to cast its spell over children and their parents. The show has been consistently on air on CBeebies since its launch in 2007, and DHX Media has announced a renewal deal ensuring the series will continue to be broadcast on the channel until at least Spring 2021.
